INVESTIGATIVE SERVICES
Risk management is the process for identifying, analyzing, and communicating risk and accepting, avoiding, transferring, or controlling it to an acceptable level considering associated costs and benefits of any actions taken.
ISN works closely with our clients to understand our client’s security risk profile and risk appetite. We then use industry best practices and subject matter experts to establish and implement a security risk management plan. These plans can include, creating a robust enterprise security management system, conducting threat, risk and vulnerability assessments, training employees on how they each play a role in minimizing the organization’s risk profile or conducting detailed investigations on security breaches or employee misconduct.

Marc Gauthier
Background Investigator
Marc Gauthier has a considerable law enforcement portfolio having completed a 35-year career with the Toronto Police Service. Marc is located in Durham Region. His education includes the Ontario Police College and all relevant investigative and standard courses during his policing career.
Prior to retiring as a Uniform Staff Sergeant in 2008, Marc’s experience also includes investigations into a large variety of criminal offences. Marc has investigated and prepared numerous matters for and testified extensively at varying levels of Criminal and Provincial Court. His tenure also includes experience in the interviewing of victims, witnesses, and suspects. Marc spent time in traffic enforcement and hit and run investigations. He also specialized in fraud investigations early in his career. Marc has teaching experience at the Toronto Police College.
Early in his career, Marc spent time in numerous departments including traffic enforcement and hit and run investigations and fraud investigations. Upon retirement from TPS, Marc worked under contract with the Recruitment Center of another major Ontario police service as a Background Investigator. He was so engaged for over six years and conducted full background investigations into the suitability of several police constable applicants.
As a fully licensed private investigator, is a senior background investigator for ISN. He has completed several backgrounds for various ISN clients, including a number of police services and other public and private corporations. Marc has been the team lead on several such background initiatives. His extensive police and private investigation experience allow him to engage in a wide spectrum of matters on behalf of ISN.
